AZ CARE Rescue saved Winter, the E-List pup that literally had hours to spare before she was no longer part of this world, on November 1st from Pinal County Animal Shelter. She's doing wonderfully in foster and picking up weight.
One little rub: Winter came from PCACC with a gift that keeps on giving-a BLOWN KNEE!
Yes, as soon as she came out of quarantine 10 days after being rescued from death's door and spent a bit of time trotting around the back yard on a 20' leash, she came up lame in the right rear leg.
Our wonderful Veterinarian with San Tan Animal Hospital says he can hear the meniscus grinding around in the knee when he palpated it for range of motion and tightness. Basically, it's trashed.
The estimate for the surgery to fix it from his office is between $1500 to $1900 complete. We are going to need some FUNDRAISING to put this girl in shape to find a new home!<br/>
