Champ is an approx 1.5 yr old black Labrador mixture who we sprung from the Genesee County shelter. He was surrendered to the shelter because his previous owners left him outside all the time and he was continuously getting out of the yard.
Champ is a wonderful boy, around 55 pounds, and appears to be a Labrador mixture, but we aren't sure what breed(s) may be in there. He is playful, but also very mellow and would make an excellent companion for almost all families.
We are looking for a foster-to-adopt type situation with Champ as he is heart worm positive. Ideally we would find a low key home that could keep him calm during his treatment over the next couple of months and once he has been tested clear, he could be adopted. Heart worm treatment requires a couple of visits to our veterinarian in West Bloomfield (all veterinary expenses paid by the rescue) and reduced activity (leash walks only).
